4. The guy who runs the place, Kenny - is nasty, drunk, and will definitely make you want to leave.

5. There is a really gross bathhouse/ storage building.  I will give them some slide on this because it was flooded after Hurricane Matthew, but it is more a have catch-all storage building than a bathhouse.

1. The price on the website is wrong, they claim the prices on the website are 6 years old? But wait.... this is advertised as " the newest campground in eastern NC". But prices are that old. We were quoted a certain price from the actual owner ( an older female) upon making the reservation and after we were there for a day her son "Kenny" whom showed up drunk decided to stop by and raise the price $10 a night. They will not honor the advertised price.  Also, they add on an extra cost for children and animals, also not listed on the website.

6. While there, the same "Kenny" questioned my children about what time we actually arrived at the campground (probably trying to squeeze more money from us)

BOTTOM LINE.... don't come here, we will not be back.

Wonderfully quiet. Very scenic and peaceful. Plenty of room. Not like most public campgrounds with people all around you. The forest animals are very vocal at night. We camped right on the river and my son just loved his first camping Trip! If you like primitive camping, this is it.

They only take cash; Kenny will show up looking for cash, but don't expect any kind of receipt. When I found out they didn't take credit cards I have to call my wife to bring cash with her and she didn't get off work till later that evening. He demanded that she hurry up because he wasn't waiting around all night for his money and that he only had 40 minutes and that she had better bring it soon.

All seemed well to begin with, until the river started flooding (not the owners fault) causing us to vacate, because the water was all the way into our campsite. We were told we could "stay up on the hill" (beside a washed out dirt road) with NO hookups, and a small refund. We chose to leave with the agreement that we would be refunded for 3 of the 5 nights we didn't get to stay. After many attempts of calling, we have yet to receive our refund. Was even told, we could stay a couple of nights for free at a later date AND a partial refund would be sent. ($40 instead of the $75 we were owed, which we didn't get that either) Sites were ok and had elec/water hookups. But the dump station was difficult to maneuver because the port for the dump tank was uphill. This campground leaves a lot to be desired.

Then told me he was just trying to make a living and raised the price because he just spent $180 on a part for his riding mower.

3. There are only two full hook up sites.  One is occupied by a full-time resident and the other is next to the bathhouse and way too close the the "yuck".

2. There is no wifi.  But specifically lists there is wifi throughout. There is hardly even a cell phone signal. If you have AT&T you will not have a signal within 5 miles of this campground let alone at the campground itself .

Come here every year. Awesome spot in the middle of the woods, it really is true camping. Kenny is great too, has funny stories and makes sure you are comfortable. This place is great if you are looking for a true camping experience in the woods.

He also questioned them about stolen firewood as if we were the ones whom stole it.

Peaceful, quite, the Trent river right beside our camp. The owner is very nice and down home type of person. Open fields for dogs to run.

Don't believe anything on the website.  This place has falsely represented themselves in every way.  The only reason I am giving them a 2 is because it is very quiet and secluded which I loved.
